Botanical Gardens/ Zoo
The Birmingham Zoo has been home to over 500 animals for more than 20 years. Come visit elephants, red pandas, sea lions, giraffes, rhinos, bears, jaguars, zebras, and much more! They change their exhibits with the season and have activities for all ages! Plan to walk around the grounds and enjoy lunch at one of their restaurants! Once you’ve seen all the amazing animals, hop on over to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens!
Daffodils, Wildflowers, Pansies, Redbuds, and so many flowers are in bloom this month at Birmingham’s Botanical Gardens! Botanical Gardens is perfect if you are looking for a place in nature to take a stroll. The Gardens encourages photography so feel free to take as many photos as possible to remember your visit. Gulf Shores/ Dauphin Island
Yes, Alabama has beaches! If you live in Alabama, you’ve probably been to Dauphin Island for field trips. But, you probably don’t know much about the island! Dauphin Island is about 30 miles from Gulf Shores. It is known as the sunset capital of Alabama. U.S. Space and Rocket Center
Name something cooler than outer space… exactly. In the heart of Huntsville, you can become a family of astronauts with their family training program! Learn to fly a F-18 Hornet with their flight simulator experience, explore more about Apollo 11 through virtual reality, experience what it feels like to take off and land a shuttle with the shuttle stimulator, and much more!
Southeastern Raptor Center
The Southeastern Raptor Center is a regional rehabilitation and education facility that provides educational programs for those interested in learning more about raptors and birds of prey in need. Explore the beautiful campus of Auburn and stop into the center to learn about these beautiful birds!
Noccalula Falls
Located in Gadsden, Noccalula Falls is a must-see when in Alabama. Hop on the trails, visit the petting zoo, enjoy a game of mini golf, or even get MARRIED while visiting the falls! Yep, there is a wedding chapel that can accommodate over 50 guests! While visiting, learn more about Princess Noccalula and how the falls got it’s name!
