Now that you’re reading this because the pretty pop pic hooked you in, let’s talk about something not delicious… taxes. Just got your tax return? Well, don’t blow it! Spend this extra money wisely! Here are a few ideas on how to spend your 2021 tax return:
Home Improvement
We are all probably eligible to be on HGTV after quarantining in 2020 and doing all of our own home projects. However, using your tax return money to improve your home is always a good idea. Summer is approaching and you can do some landscaping and buy new outdoor furniture! Renovating is also a good investment that will bring you short-term happiness and long-term add value to your home. Replace carpet with hardwoods, paint, or even buy some new furniture!
Hiring someone to professionally organize your space is also a great idea! Start with spaces that are common areas for everyone: kitchen, laundry room, family room, bathrooms. Your house will be organized right in time for your kid’s summer break!
Pay off debt
Debt is just that thing that everyone has and no one wants to talk about. But, get ahead of the game and pay it off little by little. Student loans, car payments, mortgage, or credit card bills- the list goes on and on. Take a percentage of your tax return and put it towards paying off what you owe.
Take a small family vacay
Depending on how much money you are getting back, you could have some spare change to take a small family getaway. Grab the family or your friends and head somewhere for the weekend! You don’t have to spend thousands to make some amazing memories! Enjoy time away together and recharge for the week ahead.
Invest (in yourself and your future)
We have saved the best for last! Take some online classes, buy books, or purchase new business attire! Investing in yourself is always a good idea. You can also invest in your future. Buy stocks, start a savings account for a house down payment, or put it towards your retirement funds. There are so many different ways to invest in yourself and your future.
